Most of us are about to head toward London from our respective corners of the Cubicleverse, so before we do here's a quick round up of what's in store at Dragonmeet 2012, along with some things we've not spoken of to this point.
What is Dragonmeet?
Dragonmeet is a one day gaming convention in London, UK, focused on hobby games - role playing, card games and board games.
When is it?
Saturday the 1st of December 2012. Doors open at 10am.
Where is it?
Kensington Town Hall, London, UK.
The main events at Dragonmeet are the games, our industry guests, the artshow, the traders in the trade hall, and our charity auction.
Guests of Honour: Helping us mark the 30th anniversary of Fighting Fantasy: Ian Livingstone OBE, Steve Jackson (UK),
Also in attendance industry GIANTS yes GIANTS: Paul Fricker, Ken Hite, Robin D Laws, Mike Mason, James Wallis and Graham Walmsley.
Other Great Stuff:
James Wallis (Hogshead Publishing, Magnum Opus Press, More cool stuff than you can shake a stick at or list here) offering you the chance to play the game he co designed - Once Upon a Time!
Once Upon a Time is the award-winning storytelling card game that encourages creativity and collaborative play designed by Richard Lambert, Andrew Rilstone, and James Wallis. Guest James Wallis will be running games using the newly-released 3rd edition in the afternoon, with only a brief pause whilst he leads a seminar on the history and future of UK gaming.
Once Upon a Time 3rd Edition Demos: Location: Foyer F10
Black Box Games are debuting their supersoaraway Lords of War. This is a unique card game which sees fantasy races (Dwarves and Orcs) engage in dynamic tactical card battles that surge across the table top. Quick to learn rules, great
fun to play and with a game time of about 30 - 45 minutes, gratuitous acts of fantasy mayhem await.
The MiB - the Men in Black are running their acclaimed demos of GURPS - despite what you may have heard to the contrary. Book on to one of these. You will not be disappointed!
Seminars in the Council Chamber: With seating for 70, projection and sound equipment and mics for the Q&A this year's seminars will be a whole new experience in accoustic comfort. If you need help to find the Council Chamber ask at the front desk and someone will help you find your way.
Art show: With top flight artists like Ralph Horsley (Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast, Games Workshop, Paizo) and Ben Wootten (WETA/Lord of the Rings movies, Wotc, Paizo) you can pick up that perfect collectors item from unique original art, to a signed print, to simply having a good look at the work on display. This year the art show is on the stage.
All the artists who worked on The Doctor Who Card Game are in attendance, either at the art show, at the c7 stand or wandering the hall. Keep an ear open for a signing event!
There are TONS OF GAMES: More than ever before! The latest Games Schedule, with info that didn't make it into the programme is available here!
And as if that were not enough, we will be host to a veritable invasion of jedi, dark jedi, X wing pilots and scout troopers as the Galactic Knights are in attendance!
