"It’s your lucky day, agent! Remember those tomes you requested from Internal Logistics that came back ‘out of stock’? Well, turns out that was the result of an overly officious orderly and we’ve got them back in stock. They’ll still be in time for your little summoning problem, I hope. Oh, it’s now a banishment problem? Well, they’ll still be of use I’m sure!"

Yes, that’s right, our best-selling Laundry supplements – The Agent’s Handbook, Black Bag Jobs and The Mythos Dossiers – are back in stock! They (re)join a fantastic line up of supplements also available for The Laundry RPG, from adventure anthologies to tomes of magic and more besides.

In today's post we take a look at some of these awesome products – some of which are newly back in print!

Black Bag Jobs

Black Bag Jobs

If you’re a Gamemaster running a Laundry game, there’s no better place to start than Black Bag Jobs. It contains six self-contained missions for you to unleash on your hapless victims – err, we mean players – at the drop of a hat, taking them from the war-torn hillsides of Afghanistan to the corridors of power in Whitehall, from yoga lessons in Devon to the end of the world.

Black Bag Jobs is available in all good gaming stores, as well as on our webstore.

The Agent's Handbook

Laundry_Files_Agents_Handbook_cover_m

This one’s for all the players! The Agent's Handbook includes rules for creating veteran Laundry operatives – or agents who might not be entirely human – as well as new gear, special training, expanded rules and notes on occult espionage. The Agent’s Handbook is for all you employees who, on the whole, would prefer not to be devoured by alien space gods. Everyone else, form an orderly queue for Cthulhu.

The Agent's Handbook is available in all good gaming stores, as well as on our webstore.

The Mythos Dossiers

The_Mythos_Dossiers_cover_m

You can think of The Mythos Dossiers as Targets of Acquisition’s (our recently released, PDF-only supplement – download it here!) bigger brother, as it contains dozens of reports, handouts, eyewitness accounts and deranged speculation about the horrors of the Mythos. The Dossiers contain extracts from the murkier reaches of the Laundry's archives, a selection of unexplained encounters, unverified reports, uncorrelated data, loosely organised by whatever codeword seemed to fit, and all ready to be dropped into your game at a moment’s notice.

The Mythos Dossiers is available in all good gaming stores, as well as on our webstore.

Other Supplements

And that’s not all! There are loads more Laundry supplements too – which you can read about here – as well as the forthcoming As Above, So Below, which is already available in PDF and for pre-order, and will be in stores soon.

About the Laundry RPG

Laundryline

The Laundry Roleplaying Game is based on the novels by Charles Stross. In the game, you play officers of the Laundry, that eccentric and underfunded agency dedicated to protecting the United Kingdom from unthinkable horrors. The Laundry uses the Basic Roleplaying System - the same system that powers the classic Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game (so you can easily convert adventures from one game to the other). As Laundry staff, you're trained to deal with the weird and ghastly spawn of the Mythos, you're equipped with the best equipment your committee-approved mission budget can buy, and you've got back-up on call from the SAS.

All of that means you're only terrifyingly underprepared, as opposed to completely screwed, when the shoggoth hits the fan.

As above, so below.

Few of our decisions really mean anything. File that report, fill that spreadsheet, attend that meeting – and at the end of the day, did any of that matter? Few of us make life and death decisions – and that's a luxury. Even in the Laundry, that secret branch of government charged with protecting the world from horrors unimaginable, most decisions are inconsequential. Do you fix the printer in the HR office first or the DVD drive in the travel laptop first? Do you read the files about the incidence of birth deformations in cattle near dimensional weak spots, or the new directive on time tracking work emails while out of the office? (Hint: neither of them will ever have any future relevance to you).

This supplement for The Laundry RPG is about two very different types of people whose decisions matter.

In the programme given away at Dragonmeet back in December was a brand-new asset for use with The Laundry RPG – Casefile ORNERY OCTAL – and it seemed to go down really well with fans. Well, it turns out that there are more Laundry fans than Dragonmeet attendees, so by popular demand we’re giving it away here to download for free.

This is but one of the assets found in the forthcoming Targets of Acquisition, a PDF-only supplement that features files on some of The Laundry’s most coveted occult artefacts, as well as plot hooks and advice for using them in your games.

The Laundry RPG recently appeared in a Bundle of Holding deal, and we were bowled over by the response. The Laundry is now in the hands of hundreds more gamers.

As is inevitable with such a darkly funny book, parts of it have started appearing on social media as new Laundry players share their personal highlights with their friends. One particular section from the print edition of the core Laundry manual seems to have really struck a chord. At the time of writing it's been retweeted 647 times, with 520 favourites. It has had 145 +1s on Google plus and 126 shares. It's just reaching Facebook now as far as we can see.

We've never really gone viral before (there was that one time with the Yggdrassil video on youtube but that's another story), so we thought we'd share.

Some reviews of the Laundry RPG:

"It takes the nihilistic horror of the Cthulhu mythos and makes it into a joke, just so that it can then turn it back around into a nihilistic horror setting once more. God spare England, because Cthulhu won’t."
- rpg.net review
"If you happen to be a fan of Charles Stross’ “Laundry Files” who games, then The Laundry is going to be near perfect for you. If you are a fan of Lovecraftian investigative horror, then The Laundry presents another approach to the genre, one that is more focused, much drier in feel, and with a very much drier wit. Lastly, this is the only RPG of Lovecraftian investigative horror that bothers to discuss a pension plan, so you know The Laundry makes sense."
- Reviews from R'lyeh
"The Laundry is probably the best horror setting I've ever seen. Funny, quirky, and totally dark, there's nothing in the Laundry that's not to like."
- drivethrurpg review
